Mark R. Zellmer
President

Mr. Zellmer graduated from Marquette University with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1981 and a M.B.A. in 1986.  He began his investment career with a Milwaukee-based brokerage firm in 1982, and eventually formed his own investment management company.  He sold that firm in 1984 to Blunt Ellis & Loewi.  He was named assistant vice president and later vice president, as the firm evolved into Capital Investment Services of America, Inc.  Mark joined Haker Investment Management in 1989 as vice president, and became the firm’s president in April 2000.  He is now the majority shareholder of Northern Oak Capital Management Inc., a registered investment advisory firm that specializes in creating asset allocation models for high-net-worth individuals and foundations.  He is active in the business community with interests in a number of privately held companies.  In addition, he also serves as an adjunct instructor of finance at Marquette University, teaching Portfolio Management and Entrepreneurial Finance at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
David Becker

David P. Becker, CFA
Chief Investment Officer

Mr. Becker graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a B.B.A. in accounting in 1991 and a M.S. in Finance in 1996 where he participated in the Applied Security Analysis Program.  From 1991-1994, Mr. Becker worked as a staff auditor for Deloitte & Touche in the Minneapolis and Milwaukee offices.  From 1996-2001, Mr. Becker was employed by Campbell Newman Asset Management as Associate Director of Research.  Mr. Becker joined Northern Oak Capital Management in 2001 and is currently the Chief Investment Officer of the firm as well as a shareholder.  He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1998.  Mr. Becker is currently president of the CFA Society of Milwaukee. 

David P. Weber, CFA
Senior Portfolio Manager

David has over 30 years of experience in portfolio management and investment analysis. He began his career at The Milwaukee Company and was President of their investment management division from 1975 until it was sold in 1978. For the ensuing 10 years, Mr. Weber held various senior management positions in the research department and newly created investment management area. Most recently, Mr. Weber was the Senior Portfolio Manager of First Bank – Milwaukee / U.S. Bank. He is a former President of the Milwaukee Investment Analysts Society and received a B.S. degree from Marquette University and a degree from the Thunderbird Graduate School of International Business.

David J. Szatkowski, CFA
Senior Portfolio Manager

Mr. Szatkowski graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1971 with a B.B.A. in Finance, Investment, and Banking.  Mr. Szatkowski is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Chartered Investment Counselor.  He has been employed by the company since March, 2008 where he is currently Vice President and Portfolio Manager.  From 1977 until February, 2007 Mr. Szatkowski was employed by Campbell Newman Asset Management, Inc., his most recent position having been Managing Director.

Lynn K. Vorbeck
Vice President

Ms. Vorbeck is Vice President and in charge of our corporate operations.   Her responsibilities include portfolio accounting and maintenance, billing and receivables, client and composite performance, electronic trade processing, new accounts, compliance and government reporting. She has been with the company for 18 years.  She received her MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management with a concentration in Finance and Accounting in 1989 and her B.A. in Art from Mount Mary College in 1976.

Kathleen M. Pecard
Operations Manager

Kathleen brings a wealth of operations experience to Northern Oak Capital Management.  Over the past 20 years Kathleen has held positions in many of the city’s largest corporations including, US Bank, We Energies, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Michael Best & Friedrich LLP.  Kathleen’s primary focus is client service and her role as liaison between clients and brokerage services.
